New Classes have been added for 2010 !

Cheerio Calligraphy Retreats are a well known calligraphy & bookarts workshop / retreat held twice a year in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. For one week in the spring and one week in the fall, participants have access to quality, uninterrupted study / work time, and exposure to two world-renowned calligraphic or book artists. The beauty of mother nature and absence of most twentieth century trappings provides the perfect inspiration. Relax and learn. Photos from John Stevens Fall 2009 workshop

Cheerio History | Cheerio is Celebrating its 25th year !

Joyce & Jim Teta started Cheerio in 1984 so that calligraphers would have the opportunity to study with internationally recognized scribes for an extended time at a reasonable cost. Cheerio offers a beautiful mountain setting in North Carolina where calligraphers can gather twice a year to study, relax and hang with friendly lettering artists from all over the country. Teachers in the past include:
Thomas Ingmire, Ann Hechle, John Stevens, Georgia Deaver, Peter Thornton, Suzanne Moore, Nancy Culmone, Julian Waters, Sheila Waters, Brody Neuenschwander, Denis Brown, Alice, Carl Rohrs, Monique Lallier, Ewan Clayton, Hazel Dolby, Laurie Doctor, Thomas Hoyer, Tom Perkins & Gaynor Goffe, Michael Harvey.
